Video Project

Me and Kate are working together to make a how-to instructional video. It'll be about a useful task of showing girls how to successfully curl their hair using a straightener instead of a curling iron. Kate will use her straightener to demonstrate how to curl my hair with her straightener.

Inception

When I was reading the Flat Vs. Depth blog that you posted on Blackboard, the first movie I thought of was Inception. I was constantly thinking about this specific scene when they are so far into their dream that the entire room in the last dream was flipping because the car was falling. This scene in the movie really show depth. The room in this scene is framing the entire screen. There is a darker palette and not a lot of colors in this scene. It is a very intense scene but yet very simple.

Audio Project

Audio Project

By Kelsey Bomar, Kaitlyn Cappa, and Carlie Stratton
1. Partners for this project: Kelsey Bomar and Kaitlyn Cappa
2.  Our proposed project idea is to record an audio storybook of The Little Mermaid.
3.  The main conflict in the story is Ariel versus herself. She was born as a mermaid but she is bored with life under the sea and longs to experience life as a human. Her desperation and following actions create many other conflicts like Ariel versus her father, Triton, and Ariel versus the evil Ursula.
4. As college students we thought it would be a more interesting story if we added in a parody to the story. One of us will sing part of your world in college version. It will give the story a twist and make it more interesting and funny.
5.  We will record ourselves reading the story for the main audio. We will use the websites you suggested for royalty free music. We will use the sites you suggested to get sound effects of the ocean and seagulls to provide the setting, but any action type sounds we will try to record ourselves.

Vox Pop Proposal

The topic I chose for the proposal is "What is your favorite kind of music?" The reason why I chose this topic is because I really enjoy listening to music and it is something that interests me. I also feel like as a college student, everyone relies on music to help them get through home sickness, school work, stress, and other situations going on in their daily lives. I think it is a good topic and I can not wait to hear my classmates reactions!

Paw Print

I think this palette is affective because the outside of the square really makes the paw print stand out. The colors are all bright but not too bright that it takes away from the pawprint. I also really like the sea green color that I made the circle because it is bright and really makes the paw print stand on its own.

Logo

  • Who is the intended audience for your logo?  (client, age group, gender, interests, etc.)--The intended audience for my logo is young children and their parents. The logo is "Never Grow Up" and it is going to be a childrens store that sells clothes, toys and anything children related.

  • Look at your sketch.  How will it read at a small size?  Could you simplify the design so that the basic shape will still be easy to see at a small size?--The logo is not really meant to be small because it is designed within a flower. It would read well at a small size if the flower and font are smaller.

  • Does your logo reflect design trends often targeted to your intended audience?  Do you want it to?--My design is different then most children stores logos. The design is geared more towards a girl then a boy so obviously there will be girls clothing an accessories sold there.

  • If you had to summarize the style you want for your logo in a single word, what would it be?--Girly

    Adding fonts to a picture!

I think these fonts look good together because the "Hats & Scarves" font which was Vanessa is curvy and fun to show that the woman standing their has some style. The word "Monthly" works well with the other font because it is simple and bold. I also used an olive green/gray color to bring out the trees and the colors the woman is wearing. The spacing is also not to close but not too far away. The font tells a story about the picture.
