Me and Kate are working together to make a how-to instructional video. It'll be about a useful task of showing girls how to successfully curl their hair using a straightener instead of a curling iron. Kate will use her straightener to demonstrate how to curl my hair with her straightener.

Inception
When I was reading the Flat Vs. Depth blog that you posted on Blackboard, the first movie I thought of was Inception. I was constantly thinking about this specific scene when they are so far into their dream that the entire room in the last dream was flipping because the car was falling. This scene in the movie really show depth. The room in this scene is framing the entire screen. There is a darker palette and not a lot of colors in this scene. It is a very intense scene but yet very simple.

Audio Project
Audio Project
By Kelsey Bomar, Kaitlyn Cappa, and Carlie Stratton
1. Partners for this project: Kelsey Bomar and Kaitlyn Cappa
2. Our proposed project idea is to record an audio storybook of The Little Mermaid.
3. The main conflict in the story is Ariel versus herself. She was born as a mermaid but she is bored with life under the sea and longs to experience life as a human. Her desperation and following actions create many other conflicts like Ariel versus her father, Triton, and Ariel versus the evil Ursula.
4. As college students we thought it would be a more interesting story if we added in a parody to the story. One of us will sing part of your world in college version. It will give the story a twist and make it more interesting and funny.
5. We will record ourselves reading the story for the main audio. We will use the websites you suggested for royalty free music. We will use the sites you suggested to get sound effects of the ocean and seagulls to provide the setting, but any action type sounds we will try to record ourselves.

Vox Pop Proposal
The topic I chose for the proposal is "What is your favorite kind of music?" The reason why I chose this topic is because I really enjoy listening to music and it is something that interests me. I also feel like as a college student, everyone relies on music to help them get through home sickness, school work, stress, and other situations going on in their daily lives. I think it is a good topic and I can not wait to hear my classmates reactions!

Paw Print
I think this palette is affective because the outside of the square really makes the paw print stand out. The colors are all bright but not too bright that it takes away from the pawprint. I also really like the sea green color that I made the circle because it is bright and really makes the paw print stand on its own.

Adding fonts to a picture!
I think these fonts look good together because the "Hats & Scarves" font which was Vanessa is curvy and fun to show that the woman standing their has some style. The word "Monthly" works well with the other font because it is simple and bold. I also used an olive green/gray color to bring out the trees and the colors the woman is wearing. The spacing is also not to close but not too far away. The font tells a story about the picture.

Coffee Addict
My Photo Story...
My story idea involves a friend who is addicted to coffee. The reason why I chose this topic is because every time I see her she is always at Starbucks or drinking a coffee. I planned to shoot this photo when she was going for her everyday run to Starbucks. My headline will be "Coffee Addict." A picture I plan to shoot that will make a great photo lead would be a picture of the "Coffee Addict" either with her coffee or a close up of her head also known as a detail shot.

Assignment #1
Photo #1
Carolyn (left) and Kaytee (right)
This photo represents a frame of the subject. In the article, "Guidelines for Better Photographic Composition" under simplicity, this photo represents the frame work of the guy and girl sitting in front of the old fashion house. The reason why this is a framed picture is because I focused on my friends instead of the images in the background.
Picture #2
This picture relates to the picture from the article under the rules of balance. I used the example of the little girl sitting on the wheel cart. In this photograph, Carolyn and Kaytee and sitting next to each other on the bench towards the left side of the picture. I think the bench is an important part of this picture because your eye goes directly to what the subject is sitting on but yet it does not look like they are almost out of the picture, it is a balanced photo.
Picture #3
This picture avoids mergers. Instead of choosing a busy background that would distract this photo, I chose a background that was simple so we could capture the importance of this photo. This photo has a lot of character to it and it really tells a story of who my friends are.
Picture #4
An example of this photo is discussed under discussion in the article. This photo is cropped horizontally and focuses on the main subject. Kaytee and Carolyn are the main subject and I focus on their upper bodies. I also used a simple background to help focus more on the importance.

Sacagawea
First Photo
Second Photo
I think this photo improves from the first photo I took because the angle of the photo says a story about the statue. We know from this photo that Sacagawea is sitting on a bench with her head turned to the right, holding a stick, and has a feather in her hair. This photo is angled to display the one side of her head. I took this photo from the top of the bench angled down toward her head. I really enjoy looking at this photograph because there is no distraction in the background and the angle the picture was taken from.

Welcome to Mediated Communications
Today is the first class of Mediated Communications this semester. So far I have met some of my new classmates along with my teacher Mr. Brad Lambert. I have set up this blog to post projects and discuss what I will learn this semester. I would really like to become more experienced with technology including Photoshop, iMovie, ect. I am very interested in this class and what it entails for me in the future.
